Since 1998 we have been supporting the people of Sierra Leone as a family run charity.

It is why I hold such a passion for education

In 1998, Dr Abdul Karim Gbla set up SLDARA with the mission to help those in Sierra Leone access education, health and sport.

Dr. Gbla found his path in life through education and is why we hold such a passion for educating the youth of Sierra Leone today.

Dedicating our work to help as many young people as possible to be able to support themselves and their families and so to improve their quality of life.

Our Work

  • Education

Many children in Sierra Leone do not have the luxury of guaranteed schooling. With your donations, each child born has a better chance of being able to read and write.

  • Sport

Sport has the power to provide endless possibilities. Your support provides pitches, playing kits, equipment, coaches and most importantly, hope.

  • Healthcare

Sierra Leone has the highest child mortality rates in the world. We procure the equipment and resources to help keep a child healthy.

Creating genuine impact

  • We aid individuals at all stages of their educational journey. Not only in providing school fees, but also uniforms, books, stationary and food support.

  • Our schools are in the capital city Freetown and now in rural areas like the village of Mamankara.

  • From nurses to engineers, electricians to carpenters, we are so proud that our graduates give back to the future generations and their communities.
